The Corner Sha’Q Event Center Usage Rules 

Following are usage rules that must be followed by Lessee, Lessee’s guests and vendors. Non-adherence to these rules will lead to fines and/or damages. Fees are quantified in the Miscellaneous Fee section of the Wedding Package Pricing document. 

1. Moving The Sha’Q Décor
   Lessee must receive consent from The Corner Sha’Q Event Manager to move or adjustment any Corner Sha’Q decor. 

2. The Corner Sha’Q Event Center Walls
   Tape is the preferred method to attach décor items to walls or fixtures in the Event Center. Tape must be removed completely along with the décor items during tear-down (The Corner Sha’Q Venue Manager can provide materials for tape removal). Use of Nails or screws in any wall, fixture or equipment is prohibited. Thumb tacks may be permitted in some areas with expressed approval of The Corner Sha’Q Event Manager. 

3. Candles 

   • Candles are NOT PERMITTED on The Corner Sha’Q table linens. 

   • Décor. Evidence of real candles being used on The Corner Sha’Q’s table linens will be considered property damage and Lessee will be responsible for replacement costs. 

   • Should Lessee choose to use candles, Lessee is responsible to contract with an outside vendor for table linens. Lessee is responsible for set-up/tear-down of OUTSIDE RENTED linens. Real candles must be placed in glass containers to protect The Corner Sha’Q from damage. 

4. Celebration Items 

   • The following Celebration Items may be used OUTDOORS ONLY bubbles, lavender, real flower petals (or other similar organic materials). If any of these items are used inside the Event Center, Lessee will be charge an Excessive Cleaning Fee

   •  

5. Rules for Lessee’s Vendors (Lessee is responsible for communication of rules) 

   • Music/Entertainment: Lessee and Lessee vendors must adhere to the following rules
     o Volumes must be kept at a reasonable volume at all times.
     o No outside music beyond 10:00 pm ET

   • o All music must end by 11:00 pm on Friday or Saturday and 9:00 pm Sunday through Thursday. o All equipment must have felt/rubber bottoms or be placed on a carpet or other protective material.

   •  Equipment that gets hot during use must be mounted on appropriate fireproof materials. 

o All equipment must be installed and removed during the Access Period.
o The Corner Sha’Q reserves the right to end Music/Entertainment for not following these rules.

 6. Rental Equipment//Wedding Supplies: Rental equipment/wedding supplies procured from outside vendors must be delivered and removed during the Access Period. Should that not be possible, Lessee will incur a Pick-up/Delivery Fee (see Miscellaneous Fee section of Wedding Package Pricing document). All equipment must have appropriate materials to ensure no damage is made to the Corner Sha’Q Event Center floor. 

6. Smoking: Smoking is NOT permitted IN or ON the premises. Cigarette/Cigar butts found outside of the designated area will be classified as damage to the Corner Sha’Q Event Center and a fee will be assessed.

The Corner Sha'Q Food Policy

• NO outside food at Sha'Q ticketed events.  Only food from on premises Food Vendor/Truck will be allowed.

• NO food is to be sold from the venue unless authorized with a receipt of vendor fee and email confirmation.

• Food Trucks/ Vendors must possess Food Permit, current inspection or authorization from Health Department. 

• Rentals/Lessee must clean kitchen before leaving. If not, a fee will be assessed to lessee. 

• All trash from food and other items must be placed in a trash bag in the trash cans provided.

• If you did not bring it to the kitchen, it does not leave with you. 

 

The Corner Sha’Q Event Center and Catering Timeline 

 

Document/Information Due on Rental Agreement

Payment Due at time of submitting READ & SIGNED rental agreement

50% of Rental Fee is due to reserve your date

Balance of Rental Fee is due 72 hours prior to rental

Valid credit card number or other form of payment (Zelle, Square, Cash App through Square, Cash).  NO CHECKS will be accepted for final payment.

The Corner Sha’Q Alcohol Policy 

Any and all liabilities arising from the consumption of alcoholic beverages or illegal narcotics on the premises are the responsibility of the Client. 

Beer, wine, and mixed drinks MUST be served by a certified bartender. NO ALCOHOL AT RENTALS FOR THOSE UNDER 21.

MUST BE 21 YOA to enter the Corner Sha'Q hosted ticketed events. 

Alcohol service must cease 30 MINUTES before Client’s break-down time begins. 

NO DRUGS OR WEAPONS allowed on premises or in the building. 

Specific
• Fighting behavior that will not be tolerated at The Corner Sha’Q  can include, but are not limited to, the following; 

• Destruction of property 

• Disrespectful conduct (to other Guests, Vendors or The Corner Sha’Q staff) 

• Allowing minor persons to consume alcohol 

• Possession and/or consumption of a personal supply of alcohol – this includes private vehicles located in the Event Center parking areas. 

• Consumption of alcohol not served by bartender 

At The Corner Sha’Q’s sole discretion, The Corner Sha’Q reserves the rights to: 

• Evict any person(s) engaging in unacceptable activities outlined above, or not complying with the decision of The Farm staff. 

• Close the bar and remove all alcoholic beverages from The Farm property. 

• Withhold Client’s Security Deposit. 

All City of Valley, Alabama State Laws and Federal Laws must be adhered to at all times.

Corner Sha'Q Hosted Event Dress Code

The following is PROHIBITED: HODDIES, Saggin Pants (an inappropriate measure below the waist), Baseball Caps, Bonnets, Slides, House lounging wear.  Please adhere to the dress code.  Any violators can and will not be allowed to enter.
